ABOUT ME
Hi, Iβm Elyse!
Iβm a New York transplant living outside of Boston. I believe everyone has the natural right to advocate for their health and find a healing path that best serves them. I canβt wait to help you find your own wellness ritual.
At their core, my classes center around kindness and compassion. I will meet you where you are in a supportive and brave environment. I help people discover more about themselves, shed daily stress, embrace joy and build strength in a personalized way.
I hold space for each person as they dive deep into their own intuitive healing though yoga, meditation, the elements and plant medicine.
As a a four-time marathoner with Lyme disease, I hope to inspire others to learn how to listen to their body, as well as advocate for their own health and well-being.
Iβve done several virtual fly-ins to Congress and national interviews asking for more education, research and funding for Lyme Disease.
My Journey Here
Prior to teaching yoga, I earned a Bachelorβs in Journalism from SUNY Purchase and Masterβs from NYU. After that, I spent almost 5 years as a multimedia journalist. During that time, I searched for a way to find peace and a new way to help others.
Into Yoga
My journey began in 2012 as a student at Yoga Body Shop in Johnson City, NY. In 2015, I received my 240-hour yoga certification from Audrey McNamara Sheldon and taught classes at Free Spirits Yoga in Greensboro, NC in the tradition of Dharma Mittra, a student of Swami Kailashananda. Soon after, I taught at The Breathing Room in Winston-Salem, NC.
After moving to Massachusetts in 2016, I taught private and virtual yoga classes as well as group studio classes across the greater Boston area. I received Reiki I Certification in 2018 and Reiki II Certification in 2021 from Reiki Master Teacher Audrey McNamara Sheldon. In February of 2019, I received my WPA Class 1 Certification for SUP as well as SUP Yoga certification from Island Yoga in Aruba. Later that month, I became a doTERRA Wellness Advocate. That summer, I taught on the waters of Natick and Boston with SUP YO Adventures.
Into the wild
As a Wilderness First Aid and CPR Certified Hiking Guide, I started guiding hikes in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in the summer of 2022. I traveled to Colorado in July 2022 with the nonprofit VETOGA for a SUP Yoga retreat for veterans in the Rockies. During the spring of 2023, I received my Ganja Yoga Teacher Certification. My goal is to help you work with this plant in a way that is safe, nurturing and peaceful.
